Womb Bloom- Pregnancy & Postpartum Tea
As a mama of two, this tea has been a long time coming & one of the most requested things I’ve been asked to offer as it’s something I drank throughout my pregnancies. This blend was made with the intention to support pregnancy, the postpartum period & everything that may come along with it. Whether that be nausea, constipation, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, insomnia, irritability, breast milk supply, you name it I thought of it when carefully choosing the herbs for this tea. Making sure it was packed with vitamins & minerals to support you & your baby. Even if you’re not expecting it’s an overall womb nourishing tea!
I worked with small farms when sourcing these herbs & wow can you tell! From the vibrancy in color, smell & taste this is such a well rounded tea!
Organic Herbs 4oz bag
Red Raspberry Leaf- One of the most popular herbs during pregnancy. It tones & strengthens the uterus helping to prepare for labor. Similar to how you prepare for a marathon. Working with raspberry leaf during pregnancy is like running several short distances in preparation for the long haul. Can also enrich breastmilk & help the uterus return to normal size after birth. May help relieve nausea & prevent miscarriage. Promotes fertility in both men & women.
Stinging Nettle- Excellent tonic for the reproductive system. Rich in calcium, potassium, chlorophyll, sulphur, vitamins A,C,D & K as well as magnesium. If you happen to be anemic, nettles will be a great ally for you due to it being rich in iron. Another herb that is great for encouraging breast milk. It’s also been shown to help with varicose veins & the dreaded hemorrhoids. Having a lot of leg cramps or charley horses? NETTLES! Overall a powerhouse herb for pregnancy & postpartum.
Moringa- One of my favorite herbs for pregnancy & postpartum! It contains 9 times the vitamin a of carrots, 16 times the calcium of milk, 24 times the iron of spinach, niacin & all b vitamins. Being that it is immensely nutritive, it can help with those who are tired, depleted, exhausted or malnourished. Moringa also increases serotonin & dopamine. Being that it is highly rich in fiber it can help those that have issues with constipation & its galactagogue properties help with the production of breastmilk.
Oatstraw- Rich in calcium, silica & the highest source of magnesium you can get from an herb. A gentle nervine that helps to relax us when we’re feeling high-strung. If you tend to get anxiety, oatstraw will soothe your nervous system & support a healthy digestive system.
Alfalfa- The roots of this herb have been shown to grow over 85ft down into the earth bringing up many nutrients & micronutrients. Packed with vitamin A, D, E & K. The vitamin K specifically is helpful towards the end of pregnancy for promoting proper blood clotting & reducing the risk of postpartum hemorrhage.
Lemon Balm- A yummy herb that works wonders on the nervous system. It can help those who may be irritable or having trouble focusing. I find it to help when motherhood feels overwhelming by grounding us & relaxing our muscles. It’s also very helpful with any digestive issues such as bloating or gas. And let’s not forget the insomnia that may come with pregnancy. Lemon balm can help us get a little shut eye.
Spearmint- I find spearmint to be more gentle than peppermint. Works great at easing digestion, nausea, heartburn & bloating. I find this herb to specifically be really beneficial in that first trimester where some of us are in the trenches just trying to get through the headaches, vomiting & exhaustion. Not only can it eases some of those symptoms but it may increase appetite.
Ginger- A well known herb in pregnancy, Ginger can help with nausea & soothe digestion.
Orange Peel- Not only does sweet orange add a nice flavor but it’s rich in vitamin c, folate, potassium & calcium which all help in regards to fetal growth & development. It can also strengthen our immune system with is pivotal during pregnancy & postpartum. Our bodies work so hard to nourish & protect the baby that our own immune systems can take a toll. It can also help if you’re someone who tends to get constipated during pregnancy.
Rose Petals- Another herb rich in vitamin c & antioxidants. Supports the heart not only on a physical level but an energetic level. It can soothe stress & tension as well as nourishing our skin.
Directions: Add 1tsp-1tbs of herb to hot water. Cover & let steep for 5-10 minutes. Add sweetener of choice & enjoy. Can drink 2-3 cups a day.
Servings: Between 22-50 servings depending on if you’re using tsp or tbs.
My preferred method of brewing: Get a quart size or half gallon jar. Fill it about 1/4-1/3 of the way with herbs. Pour hot water into your jar, cover with lid & put it in the fridge over night. This helps to really pull out the mineral content of the herbs making it a more medicinal tea. You’ll also have enough tea to last you the day or following days. Add sweetener of choice & some fresh lemon is always nice. You can drink cold or hot. Whichever you’d like.
