Wooosahh- Calming For Kids
There comes a point in time where we need our little ones to calm down a bit. As a mom to a toddler I GET IT! Im grateful to have a daughter who loves tea & working with herbs along side me. However, those days come along where maybe nap time was skipped, tea isn’t an option because she’s chucking her cup at me & the temper tantrums begin. Overtired & won’t go down for a nap to save her life. Her nervous system becoming dis-regulated as does mine. I wanted to make something that is gentle & relaxing. Great for those who are hyperactive, have difficulty focusing & winding down. Many of these herbs also support the digestive system making it perfect for tummy aches as well. Leaning on herbs in these moments have been a godsend for the both of us.
Organic Ingredients
Catnip- One of my favorite herbs not only for myself but for children. A calming nervine, catnip helps children to relax & sleep better. While catnip is known too makes cats hyper & wild. It does the complete opposite for us humans. It soothes hyperactivity, anxiety, constipation, colic & fevers.
California Poppy- Soothes overactivity & also benefits conditions involving pain or anxiety. California Poppy typically normalizes psychological functions making it a gentle & valuable ally for both physical & psychological problems. Its nervine properties help to calm the nerves, balance emotions & reduce stress. May improve cognitive capacity & mental health.
Lemon Balm- A well known herb in many children formulas. Lemon Balm is mood elevating & uplifting. It’s a gentle sedative & also helpful for digestive issues caused from stress. It’s delicious & overall a great ally for the nervous system.
Holy Basil- Tulsi is one of those herbs I will always have in my home. Not only do I love the flavor & the aroma it gives off, but it’s an amazing adaptogen & nervine. Helping us to respond to stress both physical & mental improving cognitive function. It also supports digestive health. Holy basil is uplifting, grounding & brings a sense of balance.
Passion Flower- Has the ability to relax our nervous system & calm the heart. Especially helpful for those that often feel anxious with a racing mind. It helps to guide you into more of a parasympathetic state & ground you. It’s often known as the “switch off” making it useful to get a good nights rest working directly on the central nervous system. It’s said to have the most defined sedative effects of all the nervines without the lingering effect that some sedative herbs have. Passion Flower is a great herb for children who are hyperactive. Again, helping to calm the nervous system & give them the ability to have better focus.
Hibiscus- A tasty herb adding a nice flavor & a gentle sedative calming the mind.

(I know some may be concerned when seeing alcohol in this formula. I can assure you it is a very small amount to help pull out the chemical constituents in many of the herbs. It’s no more than the alcohol you would find in a ripe piece of fruit)
